BOH - Cook

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our growing team. We’re looking for people who love to provide terrific customer service, have a commitment to the highest standards, and a genuine passion for food!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve customers in a courteous professional manner

  • Prepare and serve food at the highest standards.

  • Ensure that kitchen is properly stocked, prepped and upkeep.

  • Responsible for understanding menus (preparation and display)

  • Has knowledge of food service and handling.

  • Communicates all problems or concerns to Restaurant Manager

  • Exhibits teamwork and assists co-workers when needed

  • Assists in dishwashing when needed

  • Ensures that kitchen areas are properly set and cleaned on a regular basis

  • Assist General Manager with monthly inventories to ensure accuracy

  • Attend training classes and staff meetings as required

  • Follow Operation procedures including opening and closing of restaurant

  • Informs Restaurant Manager of needed equipment or necessary repairs

  • Ensure proper storage of all food items

  • Maintain a clean and organized area at all times

  • Display friendliness, positivity and helpfulness at all times, to co-workers, Customers, Vendors, Business Partners and fellow Employee Partners

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

  • Observe all safety and security procedures. Use equipment and material properly. Report potentially unsafe conditions

  • Accept direction and constructive criticism from management

  • Able to stand for 10 hours and lift/move up to 40 pounds

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Skill Requirements:

Minimum 1 year cooking experience in fast paced environment

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively.

  • An outgoing, positive and trustworthy self-starter with the ability to prioritize duties among multiple, concurrent tasks

  • Ability to work effectively in a systems-based environment

  • Ability to follow direction and adhere to company policy and procedures

 

Food Service Sanitation certified is required.

Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum 1 year related experience and training

FOH - bartenders, servers, hosts, bussers, and food runners

We are currently looking for all bartenders, servers, hosts, bussers, and food runners!

 

Bartender qualifications:

  • Strong craft beer knowledge - Cicerone level one beer server certified a plus

  • Must be able to offer beer and mead recommendations to guests

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest

  • Keep bar area clean in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department

  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer

  • Mix all drinks based on the serving sizes as outlined in the company manual

  • Understand and adhere to steps of service

  • Must be Basset certified

  • Must be Food Handlers certified

 

Server qualifications

  • Strong craft beer knowledge

  • Must be able to offer beer and mead recommendations to guests

  • Take customers’ food and drink orders

  • Ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner

  • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience

  • Confirm orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever a clarification is requested

  • Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties

  • Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude

  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.

  • Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.

  • Must be Basset Certified

  • Must be Food Handlers Certified

 

Host qualifications:

  • Greet customers as soon as they walk through the door

  • Accurately and efficiently take customers food orders

  • Provide patrons with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods

  • Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment

  • Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed

  • Learn food and beverage menu

  • Answer phones and schedule reservations with large parties

  • Take orders over the phone and pack prepared take-out orders

  • Must be Food Handlers Certified

 

Busser/Barback/Food runner qualifications:

  • Serving dishes

  • Filling water glasses

  • Clearing tables throughout the meal

  • Cleaning tables after guests leave

  • Ensuring that stations are clean and organized for the staff’s use

  • Assisting Bartenders with glassware

  • Ensure a customer is receiving the correct order

  • Double check the order before it goes to a customer

  • Organize food tickets for the chefs

  • Must be Food Handlers Certified

Assistant Manager

Illinois Crafted is looking for an energetic, detail oriented, Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team!! Do you love craft beer? Do you have restaurant management experience? Then we'd love to hear from you!

 

Job requirements:

· Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction

· Extensive knowledge of craft beer and mead (level 1 Cicerone certified beer server encouraged)

· Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints

· Regularly review product quality and research new vendors

· Organize and supervise shifts

· Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

· Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it

· Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste

· Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events

· Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices

· Providing leadership and direction to all employees.

· Ensuring product quality and availability.

· Preparing and presenting employee reviews.

· Working closely with the General Manager to lead staff.

· Overseeing retail inventory.

· Overseeing liquor inventory

· Assisting customers whenever necessary.

· Maintaining stores to standards, including stocking and cleaning.

· Completing tasks assigned by the general manager accurately and efficiently.

· Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.

· Assist other staff members to complete opening, closing and prep lists

· Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

· Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

· Basset and Food Handler certifications are required

 

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will report directly to the General Manager of Operations.
